Parent's Afternoon Out -- Saturday, January 25th 2pm-4pm (Coastal Gymnastics)
Lowcountry Autism Foundation presents, "Parent's Afternoon Out" a 2-hour respite offered monthly to parents of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Our new home for this program is Coastal Gymnastics Center in Bluffton. Parents may enjoy a 2 hour break, where they may go out on a much needed date or spend quality time with the other siblings. This event is only open to children ages 3 to 12 who are diagnosed with ASD. We do not accept neurotypical siblings. Please be sure to pack a bag of any needed items such as diapers, wipes, change of clothes, soothing toy, etc... Please let us know of any allergies and/or special medical needs. The following forms are required to be filled out. Please fill out prior to the event to save on registration time.

Rodeo competitions will incorporate
Excavators - Bulldozers - Skid Steers
Teams comprised of 3 operators will compete in contests of skill demonstrating: Agility - Dexterity - Speed
All rodeo competitions will be judged by a panel who will award the ‘Grand Champion’ Rodeo Belt. Operators will also compete for individual high scores for each equipment type.
Winners will be awarded Golden Rodeo Belt Buckles. . .And bragging rights.
We encourage individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families to attend. Noise canceling hearing protection will be provided with general admission and multiple sensory cool down areas (tents) will be available for the duration of the event.

Autism and the Arts presents a Sensory Friendly Nutcracker Suite on November 16th at 2:30pm! In partnership with Hilton Head Dance School/Theatre, LAF will be able to provide access to a shortened sensory-viewing of the Nutcracker. This show is for the ENTIRE family and you can expect it to last about an hour. Sensory needs will be taken into consideration (lights, sounds, etc), and there will be space to take breaks and rejoin.
The goal is to provide art experiences without fear, shame or concerns that your child's needs won't be met.
The entire family is invited and there is NO COST TO YOU! Please register and provide the number of individuals that will be attending with you (parents, siblings, therapists, etc).
